Zotac GeForce GT710 Review
First things first! This is a fanless low-performance GPU card. If you think you can get away with it not needing a fan you are dead wrong! Don’t let what I’m about to tell you to scare you. This GPU reached up to 90.C and it was rising. This was just playing Minecraft without shaders. So I pointed a case fan at the heatsink and it was running on load at 49.C to 56.C. Perfect temp.
My Potato Rig Specs
If you’re going to get this card I will give you the specs of my computer with the GPU installed, so you can get an idea for something to compare with.

So for the power supply, I’m not fully sure with it because of the label not clearly mentioning it besides at a certain temperature.
My guess’s a 300 watt. Well. As an unknown wattage on the PSU, the GPU runs great and the PSU hasn’t died…..Yet!
Since you are probably wanting to know that.
I picked up the GPU for around $40.can in Staples Canada. I needed something that can work for Minecraft (Without Shaders) and be a low-performance card.
I have tested 3 games and one was not supported but actually worked. Those 3 games are.
Minecraft runs great. I can run the game at over 140FPS at render distance 16. 100 around render distance 20 unless it’s a massive pile of Entities, Block and TitleEntities and if that’s the case framerate and render distance varies from time to time. This is at the Native resolution of 1920×1080.
If you are thinking about shaders, Stop Now! This card will not render shaders good enough to normally play. At the native resolution of 1920×1080 With Sildurs Vibrant Shaders Medium, you will get around 7FPS and in window mode around 27FPS if you really want to play it like that. You can lower your resolution to 1280×720 or lower to achieve a faster frame rate. You can get the light shaders but we all know you like those sun rays and that’s the whole point of them, to begin with, and shadows.
- Call Of Duty Black Ops 2 & Saints Row IV
The reason why both of these are in a combo is the fact both need to be at a lower resolution of 1280×720 and both at the lowest settings possible to achieve a better FPS. That being said,
Black Ops 2 will run at 60FPS and Saints Row IV will be around 40FPS and may dip down on intense action. The website Can You Run It say’s this card cannot run Saints Row IV and of course it can’t at the native resolution of 1920×1080 but lower that and it will.
For just using it as a basic Minecraft card it works great. For shaders, Reply mod works lovely and for taking screenshots yes. I think this card was worth the price but like I said. Blow air at it with a fan or face the fact your card will fail sooner rather than later.
